Laurie Kennard

Biographical Info Laurie Kennard is a plein air and studio painter, working in oil and pastel. She has studied under Kathleen Newman, Errol Jacobson, Michael Van Zeyl, Diane Rath, Eleanor Spiess-Ferris and Don Yang. A graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Laurie is currently the Executive Director of Plein Air Painters Chicago. The interplay of shadow and light is the key element in her paintings, whether studio or plein air. Laurie strives to capture the unexpected moment in her interiors and cityscapes.
