Located on the northwest side of Chicago, North Park Village Nature Center features a 46-acre nature preserve and educational facility, situated within the 155-acre North Park Village campus. The nature preserve offers trails that wind through woodland, wetland, prairie, and savanna.

Located on the University of Chicago campus, the Robie House by Frank Lloyd Wright offers us challenges in perspective.  Turning in a different direction, you'll see the Rockefeller Chapel with its classic gothic architecture.  Bathrooms are located at the Plein Air Cafe next to the Robie House.  There is on street parking.

One of our favorite locations, the Botanic Garden offers a variety of painting opportunities.  From the walled English garden to the Japanese landscape to the new installations, you'll be a happy painter.  Restrooms in the main building.  Admission fee is $15.95 per person and parking is $8.00 per car.

One of the best collections of Prairie-style architecture in the city, several of the homes were designed by George Mahar.  Also explore Clarendon and Hazel streets.  If architecture is not your thing, the Peace Garden is nearby at 4200 Lakefront Trail.
