PAPC members have a unique opportunity to take a full day oil painting plein air workshop with Don Yang, who serves as chair of both the Fine Art and Foundations Departments at the American Academy of Art, and is one of our favorite guest artists. Don understands and works professionally with those new to painting or new to painting plein air. By the end, you’ll confidently set up, start and finish an oil painting, and you’ll have an idea of areas where you’d like more education and practice.
The workshop fee is $125.00 Limited to 12 participants, members only.

The workshop will cover:
· plein air supplies, equipment and setups
· a simple palette that will help you organize your paintings
· how to choose your subjects
· how to start and finish a plein air oil painting
In addition, Don will demonstrate the process of painting in the field, and you will have an opportunity to paint, get feedback on your process, and receive a critique of your completed painting.
Overview of the Day:
9:00 am Welcome and Fundamentals of plein air painting
12:00 – 12:30 Lunch (Bring your own- PAPC will furnish bottled water)
12:30 – 3:15 Students disperse and paint with guidance
3:15 Critique
4:00 Adjourn
A supply list and exact location (Loop area) will be sent upon registration. Camp stool or chair is suggested.
