Plein Air Painters Chicago (PAPC) is holding their full day educational event at the Cliff Dwellers club on April 26th, 9:30-3:00.
The theme, Artistic Intent, explores the “why” behind the painter’s subject, specifically landscape plein air paintings. Beginning with a lecture by Art Institute research associate, Jeff Nigro, on the intent behind the paintings of Turner, Constable and Friedrich, the event follows with painting demonstrations by oil painter Amanda Stenlund and watercolorist Richard Shepard.
After lunch at the Cliff Dwellers, the program continues with a talk on intention by Chicago artist Frankie Johnson and a panel discussion with Amanda Stenlund, Richard Shepard, Frankie Johnson, and Don Yang.
Tickets are $75 for members and $95 for non-members. Tickets include coffee/muffins and catered lunch and will go on sale March 25th.
